Respiro Films is the production arm and portal of filmmaker/video artist Harjinder Grewal

Born into an Indian family in the UK, navigating two cultures with a curious sense of identity, 

a reoccurring state of daydreaming would naturally morph itself into filmmaking.   

B.A Hons in Film & Television with a minor in Spanish was later followed by bespoke director training at the London Film School and the National Film & Television School.  

Now residing in the Canary Islands with a foot in London and an eye open to the Indian subcontinent, a mash-up of intriguing flavours brings to the boil an artistic vision that continues to evolve the melting pot.  

Previous work includes commissions and support from Universal Music Group, BBC, Channel 4, EON Productions, PIAS, The Smalls, various independent labels, Arts Council of England and Spanish Television, while exhibited venues include London’s National Geographic Society and Whitechapel Art Gallery, Aicon Gallery in NYC, Dubai’s Art Park and Pakistan’s National Art Gallery. 

Nominated for the Satyajit Ray Short Film Award by the Satyajit Ray Foundation.
